Two Tang Honors in GCC

March 04, 2008 – The Tang brand recently earned two marketing awards – Best Brand Re-launch and Best Use of TV – in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). The recognition comes from “Gulf Marketing Review” (GMR) magazine.  “Tang Quiz the Whiz Show” on the Asianet TV television network won the Best Use of TV award.  The re-launch award recognizes the success of reformulated Tang.

Humanitarian Aid Sent for Flooding in Northwestern US

February 18, 2008– Kraft has made an in-kind contribution valued at $15,000 to the American Red Cross. The donation was made in support of relief efforts for flooding in Oregon and Washington in the northwestern US. 

 

Your True Piece of Switzerland Turns 100

February 13, 2008 – In a kitchen in Bern, Switzerland, 100 years ago, candy maker Theodor Tobler and his cousin, Emil Baumann, were inspired to combine delicious nougat candy and smooth chocolate. You may have guessed the result – Toblerone chocolate was born. Since then, Toblerone has become a part of Swiss history. While the iconic brand in the triangle shape is enjoyed in more than 120 countries, it is produced only in Bern.

February 12, 2008 – – Kraft has signed on as the “Official Food Sponsor of RecycleBank,” a rewards program that motivates people to recycle. This partnership will help educate consumers about the importance of recycling and improve recycling rates.

Milka Helps Set Record for World’s Biggest Cow

December 27, 2007 – One might say that the beloved cow mascot of the Milka chocolate brand finally made it “big” at the recent Milka Allpenwelt (“Alpine Wonderworld”) event in Berlin, Germany. More than 10,000 visitors saw the Milka brand team help set the record for the world’s “biggest cow.” Measuring 15 meters (50 feet) high, 22 meters (72 feet) long and 9 meters (30 feet) wide, the enormous animal was inflated and awarded a Guinness World Record.

 

Humanitarian Aid Sent to Bangladesh

December 12, 2007 – Kraft made a contribution totaling $450,000 to support relief efforts following Cyclone Sidr, a Category 4 storm that struck the northwestern coast of Bangladesh. Contributions were made to the American Red Cross, Save the Children and the United Nations World Food Programme.

November 1, 2007 – Kraft made cash and in-kind contributions of $320,000 in relief for those impacted by wildfires in Southern California, United States.

 

Humanitarian Aid Sent to China, Costa Rica, Peru

October 30, 2007 – Kraft made contributions totaling $115,000 to the International Federation of Red Cross & Red Crescent Societies at the United Nations (IFRC) and the American Red Cross. The funding supports disaster relief and rebuilding efforts in Costa Rica and Peru, and a community health project in China.

Aid Sent to Latin America for Hurricane Relief

September 19, 2007 – Kraft made a contribution of $25,000 to the International Federation of the Red Cross & Red Crescent Societies at the United Nations in support of relief efforts for Hurricane Dean in Mexico. The company also contributed $75,000 to Save the Children to assist those impacted by Hurricanes Felix and Henriette in Nicaragua and Honduras.

 

Kraft Sponsors Homes, Volunteers for Gulf Coast Relief Efforts

September 14, 2007 – More than 175 employees volunteered to build two Kraft-sponsored Habitat for Humanity homes in Slidell, Louisiana.

 

Kraft Again Named to Dow Jones Sustainability Index

September 11, 2007 – Kraft has again been recognized for our sustainability leadership and named to the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) – both the World and North America lists.

The indexes follow a best-in-class approach in terms of sustainability. The World index includes the top 10 percent of more than 2,500 companies, representing 57 industries. The North America index captures the leading 20 percent of North American companies.

Each year, the Sustainable Asset Management (SAM) Group reviews the lists, looking at each company’s economic, environmental and social performance. Reviews are based on general criteria, as well as industry-specific issues.

This is the second year Kraft is part of the DJSI World index and our third year on the North America list.

Irene Rosenfeld Among the World’s Most Powerful Women

September 4, 2007 – “Forbes” magazine has named Kraft Chairman and CEO, Irene Rosenfeld, on its 2007 list of “The World’s 100 Most Powerful Women.” As reported in the September issue, Irene occupies the number-nine position – moving up two places since last year’s ranking.

 

Kraft Sells Jamaican Brands

August 23, 2007 – Kraft recently announced plans to sell its Jamaican trademarks Butterkist, Pic Nix and Snackables, along with the right to commercialize Ovaltine biscuits, to Seprod Limited. Seprod is one of the largest manufacturers of foods and related products in Jamaica. The sale is expected to be completed at the end of August. The decision was made as part of Kraft’s strategy to better focus on the development of its core international brands.

 

Aid Sent for Peru Earthquake Relief

August 22, 2007 – Kraft has made a contribution of $40,000 to the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies to support relief efforts for the recent earthquake in Peru.
