Invitation-Only Programs
A number of additional giving programs are open only to organizations invited to apply. These include:
- Salsa Sabor y Salud, an eight-session healthy lifestyles program that provides tools to encourage healthy lifestyles among Latino families with children. The National Latino Children's Institute (NLCI) developed the curriculum kit in alliance with Kraft Foods. The award-winning program is run by community based organizations in Chicago, Los Angeles, San Antonio, New York City, Madison, Miami and New Jersey.
- African American Women's Healthy Living Initiative, a six-session program created by the Black Women's Health Imperative that helps African American women achieve healthier lifestyles. The education sessions focus on nutrition education, physical activity and emotional wellness to help black women better understand how prevention can improve overall health. The 2007 pilot programs are offered by community based organizations serving African American women in Chicago and Atlanta.
We also fund civic engagement programs for social service and cultural activities in communities where our employees live and work.
